** Registration fee includes accommodation (www.ramadasuite-seoul.com), meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks), local transportation (hotel – training venue), training kit & materials, sessions, opening ceremony, closing ceremony, culture night and a whole-day field trip.

AIRFARE

APWINC will support the part of the airfare for participants from APEC member economies. The level of airfare support for participants from non-APEC member countries is less. The airfare support is also capped according to the region the participants are traveling from and is limited to economy class.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

Due to the different range of arrival time, we are unable to provide individual pick-up service. Participants are expected to come to the hotel (Ramada) on their own. Please refer to the “Transportation” section of this document for details of how to get to the hotel.

Transportation between the hotel (Ramada) and the training venue (Sookmyung Women’s University ) will be provided by APWINC. Participants are expected to assemble at the designated time and place both in the morning and in the evening to make use of the transportation. Further information will be provided during the orientation.

TRAINING VENUE

Training will be held at Centennial Hall, Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul. For directions as to how to get to the training venue, please refer to the “Transportation” document.

ACCOMMODATION

Participants from same country will be expected to share either a triple or a double occupancy room. Please take note that our accommodation only covers dates from July 15 (checking-in) to July 20 (checking-out). For more information on the hotel, please visit www.ramadasuite-seoul.com

MEALS

  • Lunch: Lunch will either be provided at the training venue or in restaurants walking distance from the training venue and it will be a group lunch.
  • Dinner: Participants are expected to dine together on days with special events such as welcome dinner, field trip and farewell dinner (culture night). For other days when group dinner is not provided, APWINC will give meal allowance (provided at the registration desk) so that participants can explore the vicinity of the training venue in small groups.
  • Dietary Restrictions: APWINC will do its best to accommodate the dietary restriction of all participants but please bear in mind that since vegetarianism is not widely popular in Korea, choice may be limited for some. It will not hurt to bring your own snack if you tend to be adverse to foreign cuisine.

CULTURE NIGHT

Performance by Participants: Each year, it is a tradition of APEC WeBiz Training for the participants to present a cultural performance. It could be as simple as wearing traditional costumes to as wild as performing a traditional dance. Be a cultural ambassador and share with us the gems your unique culture has to offer.

Gift-Exchange: Participants will be exchanging gifts with each other. We recommend bringing something small, reasonably priced gift (preferably no more than USD 5 worth) to share your appreciation with each other.

    Please send us your complete itinerary when your flight schedule is booked.
  3. ONLY CASH

    Since we are a non-profit organization, we do not have means to process payment other than cash at this point. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
  4. LOOK FOR THE REGISTRATION DESK ONCE YOU ARRIVE AT THE HOTEL

    Registration fee will be collected at the registration desk which will be set up both at the hotel (July 15, 2006) and the training venue (July 16, 2006). All delegates are requested to register upon arrival at the
    hotel and pick up their training kit and identification badge.
  5. NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR AIRFARE REIMBURSEMENT

    We will reimburse you at the registration desk for the airfare once you present the following documents
  6. - Proof of purchase/receipt of the ticket from the travel agency/airline carrier,
    - Ticket itself
    - Boarding pass
    - Copy of the passport (We’ll photocopy the passport on the spot)

  7. ORIENTATION @ 4pm (July 15, 2007)

    There will be an orientation at 4pm on July 15 at the hotel for participants to meet in advance and find out what to expect from the training. Exact venue will be informed at the registration desk

GENERAL INFORMATION ON KOREA

VACCINATIONS
Normally no vaccinations are required to enter Korea from any country. However, vaccinations against cholera and yellow fever are required for travelers arriving from infected areas.

QUARANTINE
All live animals, plants, animal products and plant products brought into Korea must be accompanied by valid certificates issued by the exporting country's government. When importing these items, a formal declaration should be made to the quarantine officer at the port of entry.

CLIMATE AND CLOTHINGS
Korea lies in the temperate zone and has four distinct seasons. July is the height of summer time in Korea and the weather is sunny with the average day-time temperature of around 25°C.

ELECTRICITY
Outlets for both 110 and 220 volts are usually available, although many newer hotels have only 220 volts current. Please check the voltage of the power supply before using equipment.

BANKING AND CURRENCY
The Korean currency is the won. Coin denominations are 10, 50, 100 and 500.Bank notes are 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000. Foreign bank notes and traveler's checks can be converted into Korean won at most banks, hotels and airports. International credit cards such as Visa, Master, American Express, Diners Club and JCB are widely accepted at major hotels, department stores and restaurants in larger cities. You may be requested to show your passport.

TIPPING
Tipping is not a custom in Korea. A 10% service charge is added to the bill at all tourist hotels and tipping is not expected. It is not necessary to tip taxi drivers unless they assist you with luggage or provide an extra service.

BUSINESS HOURS
Government offices are open 09:00-18:00 on Monday through Friday. Most private businesses open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. but some open until late evening. Bank hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Foreign diplomatic missions in Seoul are usually open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and are closed on Saturday, Sunday and their respective national holidays.

TRANSPORTATION

I. Airport to Hotel

1. Incheon International Airport to Ramada

Please refer to the instructions below for a step-by-step guide on how to go from Incheon International Airport to the Ramada. The travel time from Incheon International Airport to Ramada is approximately 1.5 hours.

1). Change money for Bus Fare

After customs and the well-wishers area, please proceed to the money exchange counter. You will need about 13,000 Won (about $14) for the bus fare.

2). Limousine Bus to Ramada

You must buy a ticket for KAL Line #2 Limousine Bus that goes to Ramada Hotel & Suites. The bus ticket counter is near Exit 2, 4, 9, or 13 and the ticket will cost 13,000 won. Then, go to the limousine bus stand 4B and 11A. The bus comes every 10-15 minutes. The first bus of the day leaves at 4:45am and the last bus leaves at 10:22 pm.

2. Kimpo International Airport to Ramada

From Kimpo Airport, take any of the options below. Depending on the traffic situation, the travel time will be approximately 1 hour.

 

1). By Bus

Take #601 to Seoul Station then take a short taxi ride to the Ramada.

2). By Taxi

Taxi fare will not exceed 20,000 won coming from Kimpo International Airport.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR YOUNG BPW

E-Biz Training in Korea

The Criteria for Young BPW members to apply for scholarship offered by APWINC to cover for registration fee (USD 500) to attend e-Biz training in Korea are as follows:
