Corporate Social Responsibilities to
Empower Women Economically

United Nations Headquarter,
Dag Hammarskjöld Library (DHL) Auditorium

Monday 25 February 2008
11:00 – 12:30 hrs

BPW Workshop on "Corporate Social Responsibilities to Empower Women Economically" at UN Headquarter during the 52nd session of UN Commission on Status of Women on 25 February 2008 was a great success. There were speakers from AMERICAN EXPRESS, BOVESPA (Brazil), Kiatnakin Bank (Thailand) and United Nations Global Compact. The workshop was held inside the UN Headquarter and it was attended by almost 200 people.

BPW received a lot of compliment for this workshop. It was great to learn about initiative like American Express's "Make Mine a Million" (which so far foster the development of 23 businesses to pass 1 million USD mark in income), BOVESPA's "Women in Action", Kiatnakin Bank's varieties of projects for women and children, and UN Global Compact's effort in promoting Corporate Social Responsibility projects among private sector world-wide).
