Description:
Early
part of 2004, BPW Korea acquired a special
fund by ministry of gender and BPW Korea
held a leadership camp(1night 2days) for
106 high school girls to meet with their
potential mentors.
Objective:
1) |
To
mentor young girls to help identify
various professions and businesses
as well as job opportunities, |
2) |
To give motives
to participate in the community by
meeting women leaders in business
and profession, |
3) |
To have opportunities
to actually experience various fields
of occupation/profession by role-play. |

by high schools through out Korea. |

professional leader” role-play

professional women and spend 2 days

instructors and mentors were the members
of BPW Korea and they work in the
fields of art, management, IT, medicine,
communication, legal, education, administration,
etc. |

speaker was Joan Baron, Chairman of
Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Korea. |

Participants
were grouped by desired occupation/profession
and had group discussions with their
mentors. |
A pledge of
future young BPW was written by camp participants.

2.~ 7 Feed-back, evaluation & preparation
of 2nd camp : 2004. 8~ present
Number
of Women being Help: 106 girls from 150
high schools of 4 provinces actually participated
at the camp. The effect of this project
was much more than expected as it was televised
and reported through TV and newspapers.
Those
girls who were at the camp are now leading
BPW Korea’s mentoring program for
high school students and as of November
2004, over 6,000 high school girls have
contacted local clubs of BPW Korea to join
the program. The number of women being helped
is almost uncountable at this time!
There
is an on-line site at work at this time
for this special mentoring project between
high school girls and BPW Korea.
Results:

Nation
wide promotion of mentoring project
with high school girls - 25 clubs
of BPW Korea are now under on going
mentoring project within their areas
and as of November 2004, over 6,000
high school girls have contacted BPW
local clubs to join the program. |

Active network
between high school girls with professional
women leaders - most are networking
through email and internet. |

BPW Korea organized
and began to raise fund for young
BPW to foster global women leaders. |
