Description:

1. Teach Income Generating Skills

Taught skills, such as embroidery and wool knitting, wevaing and hand looms, wood work, glass work, bead work, basket making, etc. Soft loans are also provided to women when they needed to set up their own enterprises.

2. Job Placement and Counseling Center for Women

BPW Lahore established a joint venture with German Technical Assistance (GTZ) to establish Job Placement and Counseling Center for Women (JPC-W) in May 1999. Management Committee of JPC-W consists of BPW Lahore members.

Main activities include

(1) counselling on labour market demand, job requirement application, CV writing.
(2) Placing of job seeking women.
(3) Give guidance in career planning and training in Professional enhancement.
(4) Help women to balance roles at work and at home.
(5) Support employers who offer job opportunities for women.

Results:

Privileged women in Pakistan help their under privileged sisters to help them get employ in Lahore area – keeping in view the social constraints and taboos of Pakistan society. The women who received training becme useful members of the society.
