BPW
Chiang Mai recognized the need to improve
the skill of local women in the communities
in order to improve their earning and livelihood.
In order to do something to help, BPW Chiang
Mai contacted Department of Industrial Promotion.
Together, they choose to help BanPaKham,
Tumbol Nongharn, Amphur Sansai, Chiang Mai
province.
BPW
Chiang Mai initiated project “Train
‘Toy for Education’ development”
in BanPaKham community. The training covered
the way to design toy as education media,
Packaging, marketing, and basic accounting.
Objectives:
1. Set standard
for toy for education
2. Add value to “toy for education”
products
3. Teach housewife about accounting
4. Improve marketing skill.
Target group: Housewife
group in BanPaKham community
Budget:
30,000 Baht (approximately
US$714) with support from Toys and Game
company.

Training:
Trainers came from
Department of Industrial Promotion, Advisors
of BPW Chiang Mai, and committee members
of BPW Chiang Mai. Fifty local women partipated
in the training.
26 January
2002: Teach accounting, How to
make wooden educational toys.
27 January 2002: Teach
marketing skill and packaging technique
03 February 2002: Field
trip to Center for Industrial Promotion
Impact:
50 women participated.

University.

The second survey
on the field trip to Center of Industrial
Promotion show that 76% of the participants
rate the trip as very beneficial, and 24%
rated it as benefitial. Overall result of
the experience was rate as excellent.
