Description:
The
economic crisis in 1997 have cause several
problems. Many people lost their job or
lost their income. Young BPW in Kallasin
recognized this problem and had set up projects
to help the women in their community –
one of which is the women group in in Amphur
Malasai, Kallasin province. These women
were trained to weave blankets.
Though
such blankets were considered unique in
the local community, the quality of the
blankets was not always predictable –
making the sale volume lower than it should
be. Moreover, the local women also lacked
marketing skill. Therefore, YBPW in BPW
Kallasin decide to help train them to improve
the blanket quality by improving the weaving
process, packaging, and marketing, etc.
Objectives
1. To improve the skill of the women so
that they can add value to their products.
2. To the women to replicate the training
at the local level.
3. To enable the women and their families
to have better life.
