Objectives
To provide BPW Australia with an Award for
outstanding performance, and provide recognition
of the Awardee throughout the Federation
and nationally. To acknowledge a woman for
her BPW and career achievements, resulting
in mutual growth for the recipient and for
BPW Australia. The award recognises the
awardee's contribution and her potential
for further growth, whilst enhancing the
role of BPW in the community, and fulfilling
the aims and objectives of BPW.
Description
The Awardee will be recognised for her ability
to demonstrate achievement in leadership,
her initiative, academic or business accomplishments,
professional development, and/or community
involvement. Candidates will be chosen by
the Clubs and then compete for the title
at a State and then National level. The
Awardee will be chosen at the National Conference
and will hold the title for 3 years.
Expected
results
The first Woman of the Year was selected
in October 2004 and since that time has
played a key role in the promotion and management
of BPW Australia. She has received recognition
for her abilities and achievements within
BPW, and has also been nominated for a Rotary
Award.
