To celebrate the Association's 25 years
in Hong kong we had a gala evening on October
28 at the Helena May. For the cocktail reception,
Anson Chan, former Chief Secretary; Anna
Wu, former chairperson of the Equal Opportunities
Commission and Maria Tam, HK Representative
to the National People's Congress spoke.
Afterwards, there was a BPW dinner where
we had Emily Lau, Legislative Councilor
and Christine Loh, former legislative councillor
speaking and guests from Taiwan, China and
Europe. To highlight the past 25 years in
Hong Kong, the 25th Anniversary Committee
produced a 36 page commemorative publication
which details HKABPW's contribution, in
the fields of legislation and education,
towards raising the status of women within
our community and widening the educational
opportunites for them. We are grateful for
the corporate support of Cathay Pacific,
Citigroup, Clarins, CLP Power, Crown Asset
Management Ltd, Financial Partners Intl,
Lan Kwai Fong Holdings & Sara Beattie.

results
Over 150 people attended the gala celebration
at the Helena May (a historic building in
HK), and through the generous support of
our coporate supporters, HKABPW donated
HK$35,000 (US$4,000) to Harmony House's
"Women Empowerment and Services"
