Description:
Four-Day
Care Centers were established by BPW Nepal
in 1976 with the objective to support factory
women workers working in the industrial
districts and estates. This was the first
project of BPW. Day Care Centers in 3 industrial
districts are smoothly running with the
technical assistance of BPW chapters.
- Day Care Center in Balaju industrial
district in Kathmandu district.
- DCC in Patan industrial estate in
Lalitpur district.
- DCC in Pokhara industrial estate
in Kaski district.
- DCC in Hetauda Industrict in Makawanpur
district.
Since 1985 these Day Care
Centers were slowly handed over to the respective
industrial management committees. Now all
DCC are running smoothly except the one
in Hetauda industrial district. However
the technical assistance and supervision
of DCC have been provided by BPW Nepal through
its respective chapters.
One
DCC was established in Birgunj city of Parsa
district with the initiation of Birgunj
BPW members.
