Excellent
Country Effort trophy is award to the country
that helps the most number of women to help
themselves in the way that has high impact.
During 1999 – April 2002, BPW Donetsk
helped 9,604 women by providing them consultation
and training for unemployed women to enable
them to find jobs or form their own businesses
through "Helping
women in crisis situations through their
self-development" project.
Ludmila Gorova is the President of BPW Donetsk,
Ukraine and the head of the project. The
project also involved 6 Young BPW.

"PHAMBILI
– Helping Domestics Violence Victims"

Excellent
Project trophy is awarded to a BPW club
that conducted the most innovative and has
the highest impact in helping women to help
themselves. In this regard, PHAMBILI helped
women who were victims of rapes or domestic
violence to recover from the trauma physically,
economically, and legally. The number of
women being help per month during 1999 –
April 2002 were in average 35 rape victims
per month, 100 domestic violence victims
per month, and give refuge to 30 women and
children per month. The success rate in
rehabilitate them into the society is 70%.
Of this, most of them find jobs within the
community. Imelda Egan is the head of the
project. President of BPW Outeniqua is Ren
Mouton.
