Partner of BPW International : Fondazione
FIDAPA
At
their fifteenth anniversary in Palermo,
Sicily, Fondazione FIDAPA was welcomed as
a partner organization of BPW International.
This was done for the following reasons:
- the Foundation
is active in the mediterranian area,
i.e. beyond its national borders
- a partnership
with BPW International gives it more
impact in negotiations with potential
sponsors
- it organizes,
for example, adult training courses
which correspond to the BPW objectives.
In
1988, Eugenia Bono, a committed BPW, in
conjunction with several other BPW founded
FIDAPA: a foundation which procures financial
means for the purpose of adult education
and training benefitting women in business,
politics and the arts. The foundation works
in close collaboration with BPW Italy, but
can go beyond certain statutory confinements
that BPW is subject to.
The
anniversary celebration included a productive
one-day seminar in each of the three important
Sicilian cities Palermo, Catania and Terrasini.
BPW is very active in Sicily: the island
features 63 clubs. BPW International would
like to thank Fondazione FIDAPA, especially
its president Eugenia Bono and her team,
and BPW Italy for their invaluable accomplishments
on behalf of women, and is looking forward
to a fruitful collaboration.
