The
"Global Consortium to End Cervical
Cancer" initiative was launched at
the closing of Global Summit of Women in
Berlin in June 2007. The testing and new
vaccines to prevent and treat Cervical cancer,
which only affect women, is now available.
The Global Summit of Women aims to engage
its international network of women's organizations
in a public campaign on this matter.
International Federation of Business and
Professional Women (BPW International),
along with the European Women in Management
Development and the International Association
for Human Values, has join the Summit in
this endeavor.
"BPW aims is to develop professional
and leadership potential for women at all
levels", said Dr. Chonchanok Viravan,
President of BPW International, "t
o enable women to achieve their full potential,
we need to support women in education, work
and health . It would be our pride in the
future if we can say that our organization
take part in eradicating this disease and
enable business and professional women to
LIVE longer so that they could reach their
full potential".
BPW International's Health Committee, chaired
by Faye Gardiner, is now working on the
content for a new web section on www.bpw-international.org
to educate members on this issue.
Warm
regards,
Chonchanok Viravan
