the Summit has developed a reputation as
an exciting, fact-filled, hands-on gathering

2008 Summit Host Country: Vietnam
Vietnam, the new Asian
"tiger" economy, is the proud
Host of the 2008 Global Summit of Women.
Posting an annual growth rate of 8%, Vietnam
is an ideal venue for a global gathering
of women business and government leaders
to revisit the dynamic Asia-Pacific region,
now viewed by economists as the “new
center of gravity in the world’s economy”
led by China and India. With almost a third
of its largest companies headed by women,
along with a vibrant community of women
entrepreneurs, Vietnam is a leading example
of women’s progress in the marketplace.
The site of the 2008 Summit
– Hanoi – is home to the country’s
government as well as to a growing group
of companies involved in foreign trade.
Tourism, finance, and banking are among
the top industries in this city. Within
the government, women occupy influential
positions including the Vice Presidency
and powerful cabinet and sub-cabinet-level
posts.
The 2008 Global Summit
of Women offers delegates the opportunity
to experience the business and market opportunities
of this rising economic "tiger",
while offering an opportunity to meet and
connect with its outstanding women.
