Subject:
Local collaboration among Project Five-O Affiliates
Dear Affiliates of Project
Five-O International Organizations,
For over 25 years, Project
Five-O – which is the partnership of BPW
International, International Council of Women,
International Federation of University Women,
Soroptimist International and Zonta International
– have been working together to empower
women through advocacy and projects for women
in developing countries.
Project Five-O traditionally
advocate at the International level. However,
we recently experienced successfully outcome when
our local affiliates lobby their local and national
governments on issues concerning women in United
Kingdom and Australia. There is strength in numbers.
Also, five organizations lobbying together are
more effective than one.
Therefore it is the
wish of the International presidents of our five
organizations to encourage more collaboration
on Project Five-O issues at national and local
levels. We suggest it would be desirable if the
members of the five organizations in the local
areas could get together to run seminars, have
meetings and collect information, so that there
is a common ground for advocacy and action.
