Powerful,
impressive, vibrant, glamorous, inspiriting
and with a high level of competence the
Global Summit of Women presented itself
in Berlin, Germany, from June 14th to 17th.
Today’s
Women leaders from business, politics and
society were exchanging best practices and
different points of view, connected and
worked towards transforming the 21st century
economy.
The
Global Summit was a gathering of 1000 strong-minded
women from 95 countries with lots of high
caliber participants. Fifty government ministers
attended the conference and came together
at the ministerial roundtable.
The
conference also showcased what women are
able to achieve and how they can reach their
full potential. In this context the Summit
honoured Vaira Vike-Freiberga, President
of Latvia with the Global Women’s
Leadership Award, Rita Suessmuth, Member
of German Parliament and Former President
of the Bundestag with the National Women’s
Leadership Award und Ulrike Detmers with
the German Womens Entrepreneur Award.
BPW
was present with a delegation of 22 members
from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France,
Egypt, Russia and Thailand. They all meet
to a Kick Off before the Summit started,
among them Dr. Chonchanok Viravan, BPW International
President and Dr. Bettina Schleicher, President
BPW Germany.
BPW
was also present in organizing the Global
Summit. Dr. Chonchanok Viravan, BPW International
President joined the Planning Committee
and Katrin Grass, Board Member BPW Berlin
was a member of the National Host Committee
of the Global Summit. BPW successfully nominated
six speakers for the Breakout Sessions at
the Summit. They shared with summit participants
their experiences how to develop win-win
negotiating skills, to use technology to
build a brand, to marketing yourself internally
within a corporation or how to learn from
business downturns.
The
Summit goes to the next country on the next
continent, the inspiration and the connection
of the participants stays – globally.
