New York: The initiators of the Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) - UN Women and UN Global Compact - have formally acknowledged the Turkish translations of the official WEPs brochure, as organized by President, BPW Ankara club, Arzu Özyol.
“Over the past year, BPW International has engaged businesses to drive forward workplace changes and this significant development will allow further consultations with the private sector, by our Affiliates in Turkey, to proceed. We are extremely grateful for the efforts of Arzu and her commitment to the WEPs” said President Liz Benham. The UN have indicated that they are happy to have the translation printed in the text version very soon.
A major BPW event, under the framework of the WEPs, is being organized and will be held at Yeditepe University, Istanbul, on the 4th of May, 2011 - a day before the Global Summit of Women. For more information and to learn about how you can participate in this event contact Arzu.
