Women’s Empowerment in Education and Implementation of Human Rights Law,
Panel Discussion with BPW International at the 15th Session of the Human Rights Council

During the 15th Session of the Human Rights Council, (Geneva, Switzerland, September 13-October 1, 2010), the BPW International co-sponsored a panel discussion on „Women’s Empowerment in Education and Implementation of Human Rights Law“ organised by members of the Geneva NGO Committee on the Status of Women. Karin Kausch, BPW International permanent representative, and Afton Beutler, Worldwide Organization of Women moderated the panel discussion with Kyung-wha Kand, Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights Office; Julie Heifetz, Oxfam Manager of Poor Women’s Economic Leadership; Manjit Dosanjh, Women’s Right to Health; Victoria Zhukova, PhD Student at the Centre Européen de Recherche Nucléaire (CERN) and Krishna Ajhoojapatel, Former President of WILFP. The exchange with scientific women, especially from CERN, was extremely interesting and informative on women’s rights.
