BPW International

I have received very positive feedback from members who attended the North America/Caribbean Regional Conference in Las Vegas.
My thanks to EPW-USA hosts President Bessie Hironimus, Conference Chair Juelle-Ann Boyer, Registration Chair Katherine Winans, Marjorie Hopper, Eileen Brennan, Barbara Davis, Carolyn Grady, Barbara Yong, Kathleen Ray, Virginina Russell, Pat Giacontieri, who really made it come together.   We were privileged to have our International President, Liz Benham with us as well as our first Vice President Gabriella Canonica, Executive Secretary, Dr. Jean Murray and Latin America Regional Coordinator, Dr. Yasmin Darwich and learned so much from their presentations.  Past President, Dr. Antoinette Ruegg gave a meaningful presentation on ‘Emotional Intelligence and Leadership Skills’ and Dr. Pat Harrison spoke on ‘Resolutions for Congress’ in Helsinki. Elisa Campos, International Chair of Peace and Intercultural Understanding explained the ‘Peace project’ and asked us to send a flower to Helsinki.

Nadia Munawar Siddiqui, International Chair of Young BPW and members from around the world joined us for their International Conference and gave  an International presence.
‘You Are Worth It’, pay equity workshop, facilitated by Sheila Crook, Secretary BPW Canada, Mandy Heyninck, Pay Equity Commissioner Ontario and Barbara Yong, VP EPW-USA, was very exciting new material. Watch for links to the program posted on the web site.
The ‘Human Trafficking’ panel, hosted by Doris Hall, BPW Canada President and Eileen Brennan, EPW New York President, was so powerful that it touched members from around the region. Margo Almond coordinated the audio visual for all the presentations so things ran smoothly.
Our tribute to Haiti was received by President Marie Carmel Lafontant and Treasurer, Jean-Louis Nativita, of BPW Port au Prince.  Money was raised for the new project in Haiti to help young girls and women in the camps.
We had fun at the ‘Denim and Diamonds’ banquet, celebrating 80 years of BPW and thank Gabriella for her wonderful video ‘ BPW Through the Years’
