Latest News BPW News UN Women has opened nominations for the Yvonne Hebert scholarship

Dear Presidents,

Read this message in Spanish or French

The UN Division for the Advancement of Women [now part of UN Women] have opened nominations for the Yvonne Hebert scholarship. The successful candidate will be sponsored to attend next year's 55th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 55) with travel and daily allowance provided.

All nominations must ensure that specific requirements are met (see below). Please ensure that BPW members who meet the criteria apply only. It is important that the following criteria are identified in all BPW applicants - young, first time attendee, conversant with the issues and from a u developing country. Our Permanent UN Representative, Eva Richter, advises that all applicants should be from under-developing countries as DAW make it very clear that no one from a developed country will be considered.

Deadline for applications is 21st November 2010.

Please feel free to have this distributed and please consider members that fit the specified criteria.

Ann Swain will be coordinating all applications on behalf of BPW International. Please ensure all applications are emailed to her at: Ann Swain administrator.un@bpw-international.org . To ensure adequate time for vetting of applications internally, we ask that nomination forms reach Ann no later than Wednesday 17th of November 2010 and that applicants are available on Thursday 18th or Friday 19th, should clarification be required. Only applications that specifically meet the criteria will be forwarded.

Kind regards

Freda
