Who is Graciela De Oto ?

Graciela De Oto, is a business woman and counselor who underwent a child’s death, has developed a philanthropic view in her life; a standpoint which helped her grows emotionally and professionally and which led her to fund Suma Veritas Foundation for resilient women.

In 2006, she stepped into the educational field: a bilingual school in Buenos Aires was going bankrupt; thus, she decided to take control of the school financial matters and, in this way, preserve the education of 240 children and the jobs of 100 workers.

In 2007 she received the Cultural Representation of the Province of Calabria Italy, she received a plaque for her contribution in promoting the culture and Italian language, creating “Corrado Alvaro Italian School”, where women could learn Italian as a second language.

In 2008, she received the Women in Business Award as Best Latinamerican Entrepreneur in New York City, being the first Argentinean women to get that recognition.

In 2009 she was selected by the Marketing Association of Argentina to act as a juror in the selection of the Mercury Prize, the highest national award for small and medium enterprises in marketing strategies.

In 2010 she has been selected to receive an award by the International Alliance of Women to honor women around the world who have contributed to the economic empowerment of women.

She has also been involved in writing articles on women’s issues, participating as a speaker in conferences and co author of a book with Latin-American women called “Women in Latin-American and Caribbean Organizations”. She is also the executive producer of the radio program “The Irresistible Feminine Force” and her involvement in several regional women organizations, she had helped design programs and events to encourage women to network, learn and partner with others.
