Latest News From the Executive 1st Vice President Preparation Meeting of Next Commission on the Statut of Woman (CSW56)

About Commission on the Status of Women 56 (27 February – 9 March, 2012), the Priority theme: The empowerment of rural women and their role in poverty and hunger eradication, development and current challenges.

The Review theme: Financing for gender equality and the empowerment of women (agreed conclusions from the fifty-second session).
BPW will organise Side Event during the Rural Women Day/FAO Day Celebration in October 2011 to prepare for CSW 56. It also BPW strategy to work closely with UN Agency like FAO, and the result of this event in Rome can help BPW to host a workshop or parallel event with UN agencies during the CSW 56 as we do each year.

A questionnaire will be created to distribute to BPW members to collect informations to prepare our side events during the Rural Women Day/FAO Day Celebration, to connect BPW’s initiatives with WEPs and to connect BPW’s initiatives to CSW 56 theme.
We discussed further possibilities to award scholarships for the Best Projects to attend CSW 56 and share their projects in person.
