The city locates at the Brazilian Central Plateau, that shelters one of the largest biodiversities of the world. Your architecture and urbanization enchant the visitors. In I spill him/it of Brasília the nature it is privileged. 18th CONFAM ? BPW Brazil National Conference & Preisdent Chonchanok¡¯s visit to Sao Paolo in September 2006

BPW Brazil’s president Beatriz Fett invited both Liz Benham, 2nd Vice President and I to attend.Latin America & SSCC presidents’ meeting on 1-2 September 2007 and its 18th National Conference (18th CONFAM) on 2-6 September 2007 in Cuiba, Brazil. Prior to Cuiba, I visited Sao Paolo. Elisa set up an appointment for me to have a lunch meeting with Dr. Raymundo Magliano Filho, Chairman of the Board of BOVESPA, which is the 3rd largest stock market exchange in the world. Under his leadership, BOVESPA initiated “Women in Action” – a financial education program especially for women and the “Social Stock Exchange” program which helps raise funds for social projects that “listed” with BOVESPA. He also sent a reporter to interview me The interview is published in BOVESPA magazine and published on-line at www.bovespa.com.br/InstSites/RevistaBovespa/100/Mulheres.shtml#03 It was also a pleasure to meet Margarida Hiroko Yassuda, a BPW Sao Paolo member who won an award from United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) for her environmentally conscious measures in hotel management.

Regional Coordinator Maria Ines Bunning organized a very successful Latin America and SSCC presidents’ meeting. She planned to increase member countries in the region by getting existing member countries to help start up a BPW Club in its neighbouring country. My two hours session on BPW Organization Review and Reform enabled me to present the progress as well as gather feedback and suggestions from presidents of federations / clubs. The 18th CONFAM was informative as well as fun! BPW Brazil educated their member clubs on how to apply for funding from Brazilian government, resulting in receiving a lot of funding support for their projects. BPW Brazil also partnered with SABRE and Secretariate Especial de Politicas para as Mulheres to organize a competition for women entrepreneurs. Beside receiving the awards, SABRE will develop a video of their success stories giving them opportunities to teach others to do business “by example”. SABRE also funded the winners from 2004 to attend BPW International Congress in Luzern, Switzerland in 2005. The winners from 2007 will be also received SABRE funding to attend BPW International Congress in Merida, Mexico in 2008.
