for scholarship offered by APWINC to cover
for registration fee (USD 500) to attend
e-Biz training in Korea are as follows:

Looking
back: BPW Germany Symposium on Career Future,
Family |
Young
BPW Germany did have a wonderful in Event
in September in Berlin, where more than
115 guest out of more than seven countries
did discuss about how to combine successfully
a family and career. Beside a very important
topic we had the chance to meet, get to
know each other and fortify our (Young)
BPW network. Find attached a report from
a german member, who was really impressed.
Then, this a statement from Burcu
Gogus, BPW Ankara, Turkey, about her experience
in joining an international Event:
As a member of a relatively
new club (BPW Ankara,Turkey), I really impressed
very much from the organization and the
institualization of BPW Germany at the "Career,
Future and Family" Symposium. Members
of BPW Germany Federation show us a great
example of solidarity and cooperation spirit
of BPW Family!
In Turkey, reconcilitation
between private and working life of women
is a relatively new subject to discuss.
Therefore, this European Symposium provides
me a broad information about the subject
and gave an idea about the future activities
of Young BPW in Turkey!
Finally, I have to state
that, Young BPW friendship in the international
scheme inspired and motivated me very much.
Now, I am trying to reflect this motivation
with other Young BPW in Turkey! We feel
the strong and solid support of Young BPW
Europe behind us!

4th
Young BPW International Meeting |
The
4th Young BPW International meeting was
held in Seoul, South Korea from 10–13
May 2007 on the theme “Preparing Young
Leaders for the 21st Century”. Young
BPW members’ world-wide participated.
10 May 2007 Field
Trip - Young BPW members experienced
the advance high-tech side of Korea on their
field trip to Ubiquitous Exhibition Center,
Ministry of Information & Communication,
and Innovation Hall, Ministry of Government
Administration and Home Affairs.
11 May 2007
Young BPW Meeting: Young
BPW members attended several fruitful sessions,
including the talks on the Benefits of BPW
for Young Business and Professional Women,
New Dimensions of Leadership, Capacity building
for Young Women, BPW Mentoring programs,
experience from attending United Nations
meetings, E-Business training experience,
IDP training the trainers experience. They
also participated in brain storming sessions
on the organization review and reform, and
got to present their ideas and suggestions
for BPW and Young BPW network.

Sookmyung Women University "Global
Leadership Workshop": For
the first time professional university training
was organized just for Young BPW members
to enhance their careers by giving them
an international certification from a well
recognized university. This one day workshop
(which based on a 2 years program that educated
over 15,000 women in past years), included
topics like Global Women Leadership by President
of Sookmyung Women University, Building
strong and competitive corporate culture
by former CEO of General Electric (GE) Korea.
Other topics, including sympathetic communication,
conflict management, creativity, and planning,
were presented by experts in the field.

Young BPW Awards Presentation -
International President, Chonchanok Viravan
presented Young BPW awards (which were initiated
by Rooma Para, Chair of Young BPW Committee
on the occasion of International Youth Day)
at the Grand Reception and Award Presentation
Event.
- Empower the Youth Award
– This award was for the best
BPW initiative for the development of
Young BPW members and / or Young women
in the community. BPW Australia won
this award for implementing the idea
of operating a Young BPW program through
Young BPW Board. This project became
a reality due to hard work, joint efforts
and effective partnership between Young
BPW and BPW members of Australia.
- Young BPW at Work Award
– This award was given to the
best community project initiated by
the Young BPW member working for the
betterment of the community and bringing
a good name to the network. This award
was won by Young BPW of Cayman Islands.
It has been a learning
experience accompanied by a lot of fun activities
like shopping, cultural shows; music and
dance which allowed our members to enjoy,
network and learn more about the city of
Seoul.

The
planning of Young BPW International Meeting
has been the prime concern throughout 2006.
The programme has been revised and modified
several and these iterations were based
on the feedback and suggestions from the
Young BPW committee and especially the International
President.
The leadership trainings provided during
this 4th Young BPW International meeting
is a university training and participants
will get university certificates which will
boost their CV and add a feather in their
hat.
In additional, we will have brainstorming
session to make recommendations on expectations
of young business and professional women.
These recommendations will be submitted
as input to BPW International’s organization
review and reform.
I’m preparing a proposal to the executive
board in January 2007 to arrange some financial
assistance for young BPW members to attend
this meeting. This will include Young BPW
committee budget and sponsorships from donor
agencies or multinational companies. We
do hope that this would enable more members
will be able participate at this event.
The finalized programme will be disseminated
by the end of January 2007 through Young
BPW members, presidents of BPW affiliates
in all member countries, web site www.bpw-international.org
and BPW Online.
