The
main objective of the BPW Germany
mentoring program is to develop and strengthen
the potential of women. At the same time,
utilizing the many experienced women executives
in the business community who can help fellow
BPW members.
Women from different cities, backgrounds
and generations are helped to define their
personal mentoring goals and get support
from experienced mentors in realizing their
goals.
Started as a Young BPW initiative in 2000,
seven years later the program consists of
a well organized, virtual team of six members
in charge of Germany, matching 70 partnerships.
The program has organized workshops, public
panel discussions and presentations at national
and international events, fairs and congresses.
Support is given to personal and professional
development and the topics covered include:
first job entry, progress in a professional
career, founding their own business, work-life
balance, job interviews, improving communicational
skills, negotiating salary increases, and
becoming more self-confident.
The mentoring program is a very effective
marketing instrument for BPW Germany and
attracts many interested women through its
activities and raising its profile in the
business community.
