status of women with respect to 12 critical
areas of concerns.
BPW
International have contributed to this
review by attending several Beijing+10
Review meetings organized by NGO and UN
for various region of the world. Furthermore,
Dr. Chonchanok Viravan, in her role as
Chair of UN Status of Women Committee
of BPW International 2002-2005, also initiated
a project called “Two Steps Forward
and One Step Back” to survey members
opinions on advancements and setbacks
with respect to critical areas of concerns
and collect case studies. The selected
case studies were present at NGO Beijing+10
Review in Asia-Pacific in July 2004 and
will be present at workshop at Commission
