| Proposed amendment will take
effect immediately after XXVI BPW International Congress.
RATIONALE
It is proposed that a Congress Fund be established
whereby all members make a modest annual contribution to ensuring
that the registration fee is reduced for those members attending
Congress. A reduced registration fee would encourage more
members to come to Congress, ensuring that all future Congresses
are financially viable for the organisation and successful.
The ongoing financial viability of International
Congress is of great concern to members as BPW International
continues to rely on the membership attendance and not all
members come to support our Congresses. The lack of membership
attendance at Congress events held in Vancouver and Australia
must not be repeated where members promise to attend Congress
and in the end decide not to.
It makes sense to have each member support
Congress by paying 1 Euro each year to go towards a Congress
Fund Program, which will provide meaningful incentives for
those members attending Congress. Spreading the financial
load across the international membership will reduce the registration
fee for those members that attend Congress. Members attending
Congress not only have to meet the travel and accommodation
costs but in addition to this have to pay the registration
fee.
Sharing the financial load across the membership
by introducing an annual contribution to the Congress Fund
will allow more members from around the world to attend Congress,
giving BPW International a better chance of holding financially
successful Congresses.
