Supporting Statement

I have always been inspired by BPW International and I know that I am not alone. My vision for the position of Regional Director of North America & Non-Spanish Speaking Countries of the Caribbean is to share this inspiration for the next three years.

Communication is the key. We inspire each other because we all have a vision of women working together for a common purpose. Linked by experience, we have valuable information that should be shared in every way possible.

As past president of BPW Canada, I have attended the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women meetings in New York on many occasions and have witnessed some of the difficulties and yet the importance of sharing information – of working together for a common goal. Yes it is a complex task, yes it is a challenge and yes we can do it!

It is critical that our members feel part of our International organization and that they are able to contribute to our progress. We realize the importance of celebrating women’s achievements in the past, present and as we shape our future.

Regional meetings are so important to our education and growth because we can take time to discuss issues that affect us, learn new skills together and just get to know each other. To be part of this worldwide networking is an empowering experience.

For these reasons, I have allowed my name to stand for the position of Regional Director of North America & Non-Spanish Speaking Countries of the Caribbean and, if elected, will do my best to keep the circle of information flowing from the members to the board and back again.
