| Delegates
at XXVI BPW International Congress should vote to select one
of the following regarding BPW International Anthem.
(a) Keep the original BPW International Anthem version
in 1993.
(b) Use the new alternative Anthem as a new BPW International
.....Anthem.
RATIONALE:
At the XXI BPW International Congress in Nagoya, Japan
in year 1993, a resolution was passed to adopt an Anthem
composed by Professor Consuelo Amador de Rivera as BPW International
Anthem. The anthem was played at the XXII BPW International
Congress in Venice, Italy. Yet, most affiliates are not
familiar with it because it was not played often. As a part
of branding in Organization Reform process, President Chonchanok
Viravan decided to have this anthem re-mastered and redistributed
as CD. The anthem and the music score were also available
for download from
http://www.bpw-international.org/publications/library-anthem.htm
As the 21st Century will present new challenges for working
women, it may be a challenge to find the right words to
motivate BPW members. The competition was called to allow
BPW Affiliates to propose either: (a) new lyrics to the
old rhythm of the BPW International Anthem or (b) a new
rhythm and new lyrics for the BPW International Anthem.
BPW St. Maarten submitted an entry www.bpw-international.org/publications/library-anthem.htm#competition
to compete with the original anthem.
IMPLEMENTATION:
-
Delegates at BPW International Congress
vote to select an anthem.
-
The selected anthem shall be distributed
to all BPW affiliates in a CD and/or post for download
from BPW International web site.
-
The selected anthem should be played
at International events, such as BPW International Congresses,
Regional Conferences or BPW Candle Lighting ceremonies.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
If the anthem is only post for download
from web site, the cost of posting the music for download
is inclusive the cost to maintain the web site. The cost to
develop 100 copies of CD for the anthem is around 100 Euro. |
