You are an example for women who in the whole world are forcing themselves to get ahead and contribute not only to the professional development but also to the development of their community.

In my government we recognize the far-reaching role that women have in the social life, in the family and fortunately more and more in the productive and professional life. Mexico has outstanding women in areas such as the economy, politics, the sciences and the arts that day to day contribute to the greatness of our country. However, we know that a great number of women still confront inequality and discrimination due to gender.

Therefore in our federal government we thrive for public politics oriented towards women of our country to live better. For example, we have created a wide network of day care centers for mothers who work to leave their children. We are also supporting productive projects headed by women entrepreneurs who have decided to progress with the dignity of their own effort. To sum up, we are building bridges so that Mexican women can move towards a more just and contained future.

I am sure that the Congress of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women will be a space from where reflections and proposals will rise so that women may continue opening roads in all areas of economic and social development, generating opportunities for productive projects, strengthening the business culture and widening their participation in management and decision making offices. I wish you all the best of success and I give you the most cordial welcome to Mexico.
