Gertrude Mongella Awards

The Gertrude Mongella Award was established by BPW International in recognition of the work done by Gertrude Mongella, Secretary-General for the IV World Conference on Women held in Beijing, China in 1995. The award is presented every three years to an Individual or Group of Individuals chosen by an international jury, in recognition of outstanding work done on an ongoing basis to improve the status of grassroots women.  Since 2005, International Executive (executive board) serves as International Jury.
