The National Federation of Business and Professional Women and the Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women invite you to an event to discuss a public health crisis that exists around the world – Period Poverty.

Period poverty is a global issue that affects millions worldwide and directly contributes to the global gender gap. Women and girls miss school and work due to lack of access to period products, which is detrimental to the global economy. More seriously, lack of access to products leaves menstruators at risk of serious health issues from using products longer than recommended or substituting products with unsanitary items.

Countries have slowly begun to address the issue of period poverty through state-sponsored programs and collaboration with civil society to provide products and services to those in need Throughout this panel, we will hear from representatives from countries working to tackle period poverty sustainably and collect best practices of what is needed to end this public health crisis.
