New partnership of BPW International and Africa Business Council with Italian Exhibition Group IEG, who is the organizing group of Vincenzaoro.
VICENZAORO, Europe's largest gold and jewellery exhibition, is a real business hub for the sector, capable of promoting meetings between the most authoritative players in the gold and jewellery world. It is a place of excellence for developing business and consolidating relationships and is positioned as a privileged observatory to learn about the latest trends in style and design in the gold and jewellery market.
This partnership targets all women involved in the jewellery business, from gold digging to selling jewellery, with an accent on Africa.
VicenzaOro 2022 - Talks with the CEO of the IEG

During the Vicenza Jewellery Fair (17-21 March 2022), International President Dr Catherine Bosshart and Immediate Past President Dr Amany Asfour, in her capacity as President of the African Business Council, held talks with the CEO of the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) on further cooperation to be extended to sectors other than precious metals and jewellery: Clothing, Fitness, Cosmetics and Food. We are planning a conference within the Jewellery Fair in January 2023 on sustainable mining and processing of precious metals and jewels.
👈🏻 The delegation from the Executive was at the Vicenzaoro Jewellery Exhibition with President Dr Catherine Bosshart and Dr Amany Asfour, Giuseppina Seidita, Eufemia Ippolito and the local BPW Carla Laura Petruzzelli. In various meetings they met with the CEO of the Italian Exhibition Group IEG, Dr Corrado Peraboni, and various engineers to discuss further cooperation.

The Africa Business Council through the Mineral Resources Development and Women Committees in collaboration with the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), and the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International) created and launched the Women in Jewellery as a platform to give space to women in Jewellery industry to feature their talents, designs, that reflects their professionalism and cultures.
The launch aims to support women and showcase and reinforce the economic and business diversity of the Jewellery Industry and support and empower the participation of SMEs, women, and youth in the global economy.
The Women in Jewellery will have the opportunity to exhibit their Jewellery in the Women Pavillion, which will be held in the biggest world expo for jewellery, during the period from 21-26 January 2022 in Vicenza, Italy. They will also have the opportunity to attend the signing event of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Africa Business Council AfBC and the Italian Exhibition Group IEG.

During the Jewellery Fair BPW International and the African Business Council organized a conference on Female African Leadership in the sector of mining and gemstones and future steps to enhance the situation of African women in the mining sector and BPW, Women in Jewellery, Entrepreneurs and Business Development.

- journalist, blogger and influencer in Dubai, Samah Wahbeh,
- and Italian Past National President, Dr. Cettina Olivieri.

The Moderator of the Conference was Dr. Carla Laura Petruzzelli.
The coordination of the event was provided by Susanna Benetti and Maria Michela Allegro.
The event attracted approx. 70 participants. The conference was interesting and very instructive. We thank Marco Carniello and the Italian Exhibition Group for their support. They gave us a very convenient room with all the necessary infrastructure which we could use. The event was livestreamed and translated into English/Italian.
