Join us in a moderated international panel and interactive discussion featuring parliamentarians with experience in reducing poverty through gender sensitive laws and policies, including:
- Swiss MP and “artivist” Yvonne Apiyo Brandle-Amolo who will speak to her anti-poverty work with migrants
- South Sudanese MP Betty Ogwaro who is a former minister of agriculture and will speak to the guns/poverty link and “localization” strategies (with civil society allies such as GNWP) that she employs in the field and in parliament
- Canadian parliamentarians MP Leah Gazan, who with Senator Kim Pate, will set out their joint strategy for introduction of a guaranteed livable income
- Senator Rosemary Moodie (co-chair of Canada’s Black Parliamentary caucus), who will speak specifically on reducing child poverty in Canada and the Caribbean region
- Député Guillaume Gouffier-Valente (French Member of Parliament) who will speak to the significance of access to sexual and reproductive health and rights in reducing poverty among women and their families.
