BPW Germany celebrated its 95th Anniversary with a special reception in Berlin, bringing together members, leaders, partners, and distinguished guests to honor nearly a century of commitment to women's leadership, equality, and professional development. Representing BPW International, President Diana Barragán joined the celebration and delivered an inspiring message recognizing the remarkable contribution of BPW Germany to the global history of the organization.
In her address, President Barragán highlighted that the history of BPW Germany is inseparable from the history of BPW International. For ninety five years, German women have played a vital role in strengthening the organization through visionary leadership, advocacy, innovation, and a lasting commitment to creating opportunities for women. She also recognized BPW Germany's ability to honor its traditions while continuously embracing innovation and preparing future generations of leaders.
A special recognition was given to BPW Germany's contribution to the Equal Pay Day movement. While the initiative originated from BPW USA's 'Better Pay for Women' campaign, it was BPW Germany that transformed the idea into a nationally recognized movement, inspiring similar initiatives across Europe and around the world. This achievement stands as one of the strongest examples of how local action within BPW can generate global impact.
Looking toward the future, President Barragán reaffirmed the importance of BPW's mission in an increasingly complex world. She emphasized that promoting peace begins with creating opportunities for women through education, economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Every woman who gains access to these opportunities contributes to building stronger communities and a more peaceful society.
